Align the groove

5. Install the Brita filter mounting onto the base

The Brita filter mounting is placed on the base and then twisted in a clockwise direction until it fits properly. You should resist using pliers, as they could damage the filter system components.

The Brita filter cup must be placed over the mounting space. The Brita filter should be positioned so that it can easily twist onto the mounting space. To fix the Brita filter base onto a pull-out faucet, you will need to use an adapter with threads on either end of it. In order to flush the new Brita filter cartridge, you have to run water through it for five minutes. The Brita filter uses activated carbon to remove impurities from water, so a new Brita will have some excess carbon in it.
